Brewing Duck Shit Aroma Dancong tea in a traditional Yixing Zisha teapot to enhance its complex orchid and almond notes

Fenghuang Dancong tea, from the high mountains of Guangdong's Phoenix Mountain region, is celebrated for its extraordinary diversity of aromas and profound craftsmanship. This "Winter Floral" harvest (Xuěpiàn) of the renowned "Ya Shi Xiang" (Duck Shit Aroma) variety is picked during the cool winter season, capturing a uniquely intense and sweet floral character that sets it apart from spring and summer picks.

Despite its unusual name—originating from local growers’ humorous attempt to protect this prized cultivar—"Duck Shit Aroma" offers an exceptionally elegant and complex fragrance. The winter harvest yields tightly rolled, dark green leaves with a glossy appearance. When brewed, it produces a golden, bright liquor with a captivating aroma blending orchid, almond, honey, and sweet spice notes. The taste is rich, smooth, and surprisingly creamy, with a long-lasting sweet finish and a refreshing coolness characteristic of winter teas.
