Zhangping Shuixian, a unique square-pressed oolong tea from Fujian's Zhangping region, represents one of China's most distinctive oolong traditions. This 2025 spring harvest Supreme Grade tea is crafted according to time-honored methods, where selected leaves undergo moderate fermentation and light baking to develop their characteristic strong aroma while preserving floral freshness.

 

The tea is traditionally pressed into small, compact squaresa signature shape that makes Zhangping Shuixian visually recognizable. Each square contains complete, finely processed leaves that unfold gradually during brewing. The dry tea exhibits a dark green color with subtle reddish edges. When steeped, it produces a golden-yellow liquor with brilliant clarity and an intensely aromatic profile dominated by orchid, gardenia, and honey notes, complemented by a subtle roasted undertone. The taste is rich and full-bodied, offering a perfect balance of floral sweetness and refreshing briskness, with a lingering sweet aftertaste that captivates the palate.

 

Brewing Guide:

Teaware: Porcelain gaiwan or Yixing clay teapot

Water Temperature: 95-100°C (203-212°F)

Amount: 1 square (approx. 8-10g) per 150ml

Rinse: Briefly rinse with hot water to awaken the leaves

Steeping Time:

First infusion: 20-30 seconds

Gradually increase by 10-15 seconds for subsequent brews

Can be brewed 7-9 times, with later infusions revealing sweeter, milder notes

Cold Brew Method: Place one tea square in 500ml purified water, steep 4-6 hours in refrigerator, then strain and serve. Chilling enhances its refreshing sweetness
