The cup underwent dozens of hours of naked firing in a wood-burning kiln. Pine ash naturally fell and melted onto its surface, forming a glistening "kiln sweat" crystal inside the cup, like frozen morning dew. The rim is also adorned with natural ash glaze crystallization, reflecting a deep luster in the light.

The unglazed areas, having interacted directly with the flames at high temperatures, display flowing, iridescent fire marks. When the cup is turned under sunlight, subtle metallic hues of blue, purple, and gold shimmer into view.
