Longquan Iron-clay Gaiwan, as the name suggests, has a high iron content in its clay body, which gives the fired porcelain a dark green color. This type of clay does not absorb glaze, resulting in a glaze that is crystal-clear and glossy, resembling a layer of glass after firing.
Longquan celadon has a base color of green, which varies from light to dark, evolving into different shades such as plum green, pale green, dark green, creamy yellow, black ice, sky blue, and more.

Beautiful Gaiwan
The gaiwan is beautifully coloured in a green-ish dark turquoise that catches the light in its cracks and is smooth enough to reflect all surfaces. It holds a good amount of water, and the flared top allows for easy holding and pouring without burning one's fingers. This was my very first gaiwan, and I was surprised how easy it was to get the hang of pouring tea with it - Initially, I thought I might not enjoy using it frequently because it's "more complicated than a teapot", but it's surprisingly easy to learn and elevates your tea experience to a new level.
Overall the gaiwan feels very high-quality and is a pleasure to use and incorporate into your tea sessions. 5 stars.
P.S buyers in Europe should be conscious of shipping time - I had some troubles regarding the shipping companies and middlemen, but Saanwu was very willing to help me throughout the shipping process to ensure I recieved my package, for which I feel like I should mention their excellent customer service.

This is a beautiful gaiwan. It is also my first. I have smaller hands, but do not struggle to pour with this. The lid stays in place. It's a beautiful green!
