Traditional brewing of Wuyi Rougui Oolong tea in Yixing clay teapot with 95-100°C water

Wuyi Rock Tea, from the mineral-rich cliffs of Fujian's Wuyi Mountains, represents one of China's most celebrated oolong traditions. This 2025 Rougui ("Cassia") variety is crafted from leaves grown in the region's distinctive rocky terrain, where the unique terroir imparts a remarkable mineral character to the tea.

Rougui Oolong is renowned for its spicy, cinnamon-like aromaa characteristic that gives this tea its name. The 2025 spring harvest presents tightly curled, dark green leaves with subtle reddish edges. When brewed, it yields an amber-gold liquor with a captivating fragrance blending cassia bark, dried apricot, and the distinctive "rock rhyme" (Yan Yun) mineral notes. The taste is robust and full-bodied, offering layers of spice, honey, and roasted nuts, with a long-lasting sweet aftertaste that embodies the essence of Wuyi rock tea.
