This handcrafted teacup embodies the timeless elegance of imperial porcelain from Jingdezhen, featuring the classic “Twining Lotus” motif. Rich cobalt-blue pigment is delicately painted beneath the glaze using expressive, freehand brushwork. In traditional Chinese ceramic art, the endlessly curling lotus vines symbolize prosperity, harmony, longevity, and an enduring cycle of life.
Hand-thrown from aged Jingdezhen clay, the teacup is decorated by an experienced ceramic master using natural cobalt-blue pigment applied directly onto the unfired body. It is then fired at temperatures exceeding 1,300°C. Deep indigo lotus petals and gracefully flowing vines are permanently sealed beneath a crystal-clear glaze, creating subtle layers of blue that retain their beauty over time without fading.
