The glazes used on iron-bodied celadon typically have crackle patterns, classifying them as a type of Ge kiln porcelain, which was highly favored by the royal family during the Song dynasty.

As the most challenging type of Longquan celadon to produce, iron-bodied celadon features colors in gray, black, and dark green tones. Combined with its clear and glossy glaze, it perfectly showcases a deep, restrained, and rustic character.
