A striking study in contrast and quiet majesty, this handcrafted teacup celebrates the refined "Black Beauty" (Hei Mei Ren) aesthetic of Longquan "Ge" Kiln ceramics. Hand-thrown from dark, iron-dense clay, the vessel features an exposed deep-charcoal rim and foot ring (Zitai Tiezu), creating a dramatic, dark framing line against the luminous glaze.
Coated in a rich, jade-smooth celadon glaze, the interior and exterior reveal a dark, web-like matrix of crackles (Kaipian) that look as though ink was brushed across ice. The wide, outward-flaring rim (Wankou) not only offers an graceful silhouette reminiscent of classic tea bowls, but also cools high-temperature tea liquor quickly while providing a silky, comfortable lip feel. Over years of mindful Gongfu brewing, natural tea polyphenols gently seep into the microscopic crackle network, progressively darkening the lines into a deep, personalized gold-and-black patina.
