Plum green is one of the most representative colors in Longquan celadon, named for its resemblance to the color of green plums.

The clay used for Longquan celadon is especially important. It is made from raw materials that contain a large amount of feldspar and a certain amount of gaoling stone and cloud mother minerals. These minerals give the clay high plasticity while also providing a certain level of porosity for the fusion with the glaze during the firing process.
