Inspired by the refined aesthetics of the Northern Song Dynasty, this handcrafted Ru ware teacup is shaped in the elegant Lushi form, echoing the silhouette of traditional Chinese incense burners. The balanced proportions and gently flared profile reflect the quiet restraint that defined one of the Five Great Kilns of Song dynasty ceramics.

This piece is a contemporary replica honoring classical Ru ware tradition. Its surface is coated in a luminous celadon glaze, often described as sky-blue — reminiscent of the poetic phrase “the color of the sky after rain.” Subtle willow-leaf crackle patterns emerge across the glaze, forming naturally during cooling and adding depth and texture to the surface.

The glaze is formulated with agate infusion, a traditional technique that enhances its soft translucency and jade-like quality. Fired at approximately 1300°C, the high-temperature reduction firing produces a smooth, glassy finish with gentle tonal variation.
