The Imperial Crown Jewel of Song Dynasty Ceramics.
Renowned as the foremost of China’s Five Great Kilns, Ru Kiln porcelain was reserved exclusively for the Song Dynasty imperial court. Its iconic sky-blue glaze (Tianqing) was commissioned by Emperor Huizong to capture the tranquil color of the sky after rain. Formulated with finely ground natural agate powder, the glaze yields an unctuous, jade-like luster with a silky tactile feel.
This handcrafted tea set features a classic Gaiwan with matching tasting cups, highlighted by subtle bronze-tinted rims that frame the pristine blue glaze. Fired twice at a demanding 1350°C, each batch achieves an yield rate of just 17%, making every piece a highly collectible treasure. Over time, as tea oils gently permeate the fine craze lines (cracke glaze), the vessel develops a beautiful, personalized patina unique to your tea rituals.
