More than a functional incense censer, this two-piece Ru Ware creation brings three-dimensional ceramic sculpture directly onto your tea table or altar. Hand-crafted in a classic vertical hierarchy, the burner pairs a proud, resting Sika deer cover with a multi-layered, hand-sculpted lotus petal basin set atop a stately pedestal base.

The clever design highlights lies in the details: the natural spots along the deer's flank double as precision smoke vents. When an incense cone or coil burns inside the basin, delicate tendrils of aromatic smoke drift gently out from the deer’s body, creating a mesmerizing visual stream. Finished in Ru Kiln’s glossy sky-blue (Tian Qing) glaze, the thick glaze pools along the base of each carved lotus petal and thins slightly at the sharp tips, creating vivid color depth and subtle golden-tan highlights (Chu Jin). Beneath the glassy surface lies a tight network of natural ice-crackles (Kaipian) that will subtly absorb ambient oils and smoke over years of dedicated use, slowly deepening its character over time.
