Inspired by the ultimate quiet aesthetic of Northern Song Dynasty court ceramics, this Ru Ware Sky-Blue High-Stem Aroma Cup (Wen Xiang Bei) is purposefully crafted to elevate the sensory ritual of Gongfu tea. Shaped with a deep, tulip-like swelling body that tapers gently toward the rim, its tall interior column is designed to trap and concentrate the delicate, volatile floral and roasted aromas of high-mountain Oolongs and aged teas.
Finished in Ru Kiln’s revered sky-blue (Tian Qing) glaze, the surface carries a soft, jade-like luster with a smooth, unctuous touch. Across the outer walls, fine microscopic crackle lines (Kaipian) weave through the glaze like cracked ice over a frozen lake. As you use the cup during tea sessions, natural tea oils slowly seep into this delicate crackle network, aging the vessel into a living heirloom with a warm, golden patina over time.
