The jar body is crafted from deep-layer clay and Shishou pottery clay, giving it a dense and weighty texture that conveys a strong sense of substance. The surface is slightly coarse to the touch — full and tactile — combining both aesthetic appeal and practical durability.

Its surface is coated with a gilded iron-rust glaze, made from a base glaze rich in iron oxide. When fired at 1300°C, the glaze naturally flows and transforms within the kiln, creating streaked or speckled patterns and a metallic sheen. The firing results in unique surfaces of deep brown, rust red, or dark gold, each piece distinct with a rustic, aged charm and timeless beauty.
