Crafted from Yixing dark clay, this teapot features hand-carved depictions of three symbolic plants: pine, plum, and bamboo.
Dark clay from Yixing requires higher firing temperatures—typically above 1400°C—achievable only in gas kilns. The distinct traces of fire visible on the teapot’s surface testify to this intense firing process, while the clay retains exceptional breathability ideal for tea brewing.
The form of the “Smiling Cherry” teapot (Xiaoying Pot) dates back to the Ming Dynasty. Its distinctive design aligns the spout, shoulder, and handle in one straight line—a feature that historically earned it the name "Three-Line Teapot."
Crafted with a serpentine spout that ensures a powerful yet smooth pour, this 450ml teapot is well-suited for brewing highly aromatic teas such as Oolong, as well as aged white teas like Shou Mei or Gong Mei.
